I humbly ask, anyone, to provide me with evidence of a deity that exists. I’m looking for physical evidence, not “(Insert deity here) exists in my heart and you cannot change how I feel. I felt (deity).”

That isn’t proof, that is OPINION.

Whatever religion you are isn’t important, but proof is. Your religion’s doctrines are also not a viable source of evidence (Because using that would probably end up in circular logic, as depicted below).

This isn’t an attack, but seriously, prove your claim that ANYTHING like that exists.

1) Maryya: The problem with using that example is that we can in fact see the professor’s brain using MRI scans, or even hacking his skull open. The proof is available to us. While the student is correct about “Cold” it doesn’t prove anything except that the professor cannot properly defend his arguments, and probably shouldn’t be teaching. As for the evolution part, we can accurately see how species have changed over time (for more on evolution go to talkoriginations.org they have a lot of great insight as to the myths and facts about evolution). We can ABSOLUTELY understand how magnets work, I assume that the person who wrote that is a complete moron if they don’t understand why magnets work the way they do. And no, I will not post about how magnets work. Luckily we have google or bing for something like that. If indeed you say that there isn’t any hard evidence (physical evidence) of a deity existing, why would you bother believing, or even accepting it on faith(faith, by definition, is believing without evidence. It’s mind-boggling why anyone would do that).

The student-teacher debate is another example why religion can’t come up with a good argument for the existence of a creator; This is an appeal to the ignorance of the professor. It is quite likely that the person who created this example was a religious person (I have seen the example before for both Islam and Christianity) who tries to demoralize atheism or agnosticism. I suggest you get a wide variety of examples if you want to prove your point or prove anything, really.

2) Giuseppethedreammaker I am not quite sure what you are getting at here. I also don’t believe in soul mates for 2 reasons: I don’t have a soul, I am an atheist. I don’t have a soul, I’m a ginger. :P If you are referring to the youtube conversation I had with the person who is probably working in coalition with the WBC, I very much doubt that I could ever be conversational, let alone a “soul mate” with someone like that. On that note, he was the one who ended the conversation by choosing to not respond. I never tried to demoralize him, I simply request proof of existence. And indeed in this situation too, I only look for proof.

There is no proof that god exists, any god, for that matter. I would like you to please provide me with some sort of rebuttal or proof to my claim that god exists, without threatening me with eternal damnation. Me: Why are you so hostile? I cannot believe that someone of your age would be so overbearingly attacking and inconsiderate, that isn’t very Christian of you, according to your religion anyways. I do not look for rewards, I look for proof, for evidence that is physical and apparent, which you cannot seem to provide. You will not make it into your heaven with that kind of attitude (not that it exists anyway). Prove your god is real, then perhaps I will accept your hatred.

Me: I have only asked you for proof of existence of your god, and so far all you have provided is demoralization, rude remarks, name calling, and threats. You are truly ignorant and have no place in a debate. You cannot formulate a sentence without violence and a bad attitude. The bible proves nothing, either. It has been changed and altered so many times, you cannot even use it as a primary source. It’s a book of fairy tales and bigotry. Which goes well with your ideals.

While I will admit I do not know every form of argument, rebuttal, and debate, I certainly do try to uphold an open mind, but a firm opinion. This person clearly has no idea what being open-minded is, nor do they care about anyone or anything outside of their own closeted little space.

I can only hope religious folk like this are all taken to another planet and left there to cultivate their own hateful ideas, far away from us.
